The USA is fast becoming fundamentalist Christian right nation, and that includes laws passed at local, state and federal level. My limited understanding of the US constitution is that it prevents the establishment of religion, but doesn’t prevent the passing of laws that support and/or enforce values of one specific religious viewpoint over other viewpoints. And that specific religious viewpoint is without doubt that of the fundamentalist Christian nationalist right. That is no more evident that the proposed “Protect Children’s Innocence Act” introduced by none other than Marjorie Taylor Greene, that does exactly the opposite of it’s title suggests and will cause considerable harm to the minority that this bill is directed against.

I believe God created 2 genders, male and female. I also believe we have a right (not God-given) to choose right from wrong, so disagree with criminalization of abortion and transgender. Doesn’t mean I agree with these 2 issues- rather, I don’t think related laws should be enacted.
To explain, I believe God created us for relationship with himself and we turned away. The Bible’s message is to return to him via Christ, and I did.

You are free to believe as you wish, as am I. And I have come to a very different conclusion. While I’m ambivalent about some aspects of abortion, I am very clear on sexual attraction and gender identity. These are not choices any more than me being autistic is a choice, so therefore cannot be a matter of right or wrong.
