Face Blindness

If you change your hairstyle; if you change your usual lipstick colour; if we cross paths in a different environment than where we usually meet; if I usually see you wearing a neck tie but today you are wearing an open necked shirt; if I usually see you in jeans but today you are wearing a dress, then

I WILL NOT RECOGNISE YOU!

You will need to provide me with some clues. I find women are particularly troublesome in this respect as even a change in eye lining or the wearing/not wearing of mascara can throw me.

  1. I didn’t recognize myself in the bus’s mirror because my hair was windblown. I was thinking ‘This girl looks weird’. And then I pushed the hair out of my face, and the weird girl did the same.

I also didn’t recognize my father when I was a year old because he didn’t shave for a few days. My mother says I treated him like a stranger, and he had to shave, and then everything was back to normal.

  2. LOL. The same as my husband. This is why I never have my hair dyed with another color. One reason is because he prefers me with the same hair color, otherwise he would not recognise me. The other reason is simply I just don´t feel the need to have it dyed with another color.
